I Have a Dream

Last year marked 50 years since Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his landmark speech in the shadows of the Lincoln Memorial.  If you have time in your break from school today, listen with your kids to his most famous speech, "I Have a Dream,"
found here, at americanrhetoric.com.  You can read along with this version, as the words are printed below (very helpful, since all the recordings of him are pretty old now).  We've attempted to watch a full-on youtube version of Dr. King's speech.  But in search of something easy for our kids to grasp and understand, I found this:  a very kid friendly version of his impactful speech.  This I Have a Dream Speech is a great way to explain the importance of this speech to your kids.

You can find more on Dr. King hereherehere or here
